I grew up working in my father’s butcher shop learning the meat business working by his side.  We had an opportunity in 1972 to open a meat and poultry distributorship in Chico for a company based in Sacramento.  In1980 an opportunity became available to purchase the Chico branch outright.  We jumped at the chance and S&L was born.

I graduated from Chico State with a B.S. in Business Management/Accounting.  Since that time, I have greatly enjoyed the customer and employee relationships that have been built helping us meet the needs of those we serve.

In my spare time I enjoy all things outdoors, especially golf.

My entire career has been in the retail and food distribution industry.  Growing up I would work summers in my grandparent’s grocery store.  I have spent time at 7up/Keurig and Siskiyou Distributing prior to joining S&L in 1999. During my tenure at S&L I have had the opportunity to work in every department, beginning on the load crew and progressing through the ranks as I completed my B.S. in Business Administration/Finance at Chico State.

I enjoy working with the team we have built at S&L.  Despite being a smaller distributor in our industry, we can compete with the “big guys”. It is fun working in a fast-paced, ever changing, environment with a team that seeks (and expects) change as a constant. 

My interests include anything outdoors.  My wife and I enjoy travel and spending time with our son and his young family.

I started working for S&L Foods over 20 years ago.  I started as an office assistant, filing paperwork and cleaning, and moved into a customer service position as a receptionist, CSR, and managing our grocery redistributing program.  I graduated from Chico State in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree. In 2012 I moved into purchasing.

My favorite thing about working for S&L is the relationship we build with our customers and co-workers.  We adapt to changes in the market and customer base by brainstorming new ideas and better ways to serve our customers. 

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family (my husband and our two small children, and our two Boston Terriers), interior decorating, and household DIY/home improvement projects with my husband.
